Toxic workplace, plagiarism, border crisis: 5 Kamala Harris controversies since 2020
Abortion clinic visit
In March, Harris became the first sitting vice president to visit an abortion clinic, specifically visiting Planned Parenthood St. Paul Health Center in Minnesota.
“I’m here at this health care clinic to uplift the work that is happening in Minnesota as an example of what true leadership looks like,” Harris told reporters while at the facility, as quoted by CNN.
“The reason I’m here is because this is a health care crisis. … Part of this health care crisis is the clinics like this that have had to shut down and what that has meant to leave no options with any reasonable geographic area for so many women who need this essential care.”
Also in attendance for the visit was Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who Harris later selected as her 2024 running mate.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser released a statement denouncing the visit, saying that “Harris has spent her whole career in the pocket of Big Abortion.”
“When brave citizen journalists exposed Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby body parts, then-Attorney General Harris prosecuted the whistleblowers. The corruption continues as the Biden-Harris DOJ throws nonviolent pro-life activists in prison,” stated Dannenfelser.
“We need leaders who will champion national minimum protections at least when babies in the womb can feel pain, to stop Planned Parenthood and the Democrats’ all-trimester, no-limits abortion agenda. They are extreme and wildly out of step with America.”
