Toyota Prius 2016 specs, release date, and news: To be a sure hit on its debut next week
The much-awaited Toyota Prius 2016 will soon be released, and Toyota fans cannot wait for the roadshow to be launched.
Car enthusiasts can expect to have their hands on the new Prius this coming September 8, which will be unveiled in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Car Advice and Autoevolution.
There are a few photos that have surfaced the Internet; however, Autoevolution said that the 2016 model will still have the same side profiles, but different front and rear ends. A glimpse of the new Toyota Prius' design was provided by Prius Club, Malaysia, and it will have a lot of similarities to the Toyota Mirai design.
The new Toyota Prius will carry the brand-new TNGA architecture. It looks larger than the current model, but no official specifications have been released yet. It is said that the new car model will have a better thermal energy efficiency (up to 40 percent) as well, which is considered the highest for a production vehicle ever.
Also, according to Car and Driver's latest blog post, buyers can expect the new Prius to be offered in two models — a regular hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, which green car fans will definitely love.
The 2016 Toyota Prius is said to have lithium-ion batteries for regular models, and the plug-in version, on the other hand, will include a bigger lithium-ion pack that allows up to 30 miles driving using electricity only.
The Toyota Prius model is popular among the hybrid car enthusiasts and currently on its fourth-generation since its released in 2009. It got sold out in Japan and in the United States during the time that the fuel prices where sky-high. With its newer face-lift and hybrid improvement, the Toyota Prius 2016 will surely be a hit on its debut next week.
