'Transformers 5' movie rumors: Might feature two separate story lines

The new "Transformers" movie is still a few years away and yet rumors are already swirling about it. The new movie might be titled "Transformers Age of Unicorns" and the film might actually go into two different directions.

The upcoming film might feature two separate story lines. One story line will focus on the Autobots as Optimus Prime travels through space, in order to search for his creators. The other story line will focus on Mark Wahlberg's character Cade Yeager as he teams up with some other Autobots to save earth.

There is a rumor that "Transformers 5" will be a prequel that will be set on Cybertron instead of an actual sequel. Fans of the Transformers franchise have been clamoring for a movie that only features the robots and has no human drama whatsoever. That film would have to be set on Cybertron, the homeland of the Transformers where the Autobots and Decepticons first battled.

The movie could also feature Optimus Prime through flashbacks as he searches for his creators, the Quintessons. The film being a prequel instead would refresh the franchise and bring back fans who have been disappointed in the more recent movies.

There is another rumor that the new movie will introduce a fan favorite character from the series, Unicorn. Unicorn and Optimus Prime might have an epic battle, which means that Unicorn could possibly be the film's villain.

There is also another rumor that the next movie will be set primarily in space, but this was debunked by producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura as he explained why it would be hard to get rid of the humans in the film. "We want our humans with us. So going to space might force an all-Transformers movie, and while I think some fans would love that, I think other fans would be disappointed they don't have humans. So I think that's the creative decision we've got to face about that idea," he said.

The film will be written by Ehren Kruger, who wrote the previous installments of the Transformers franchise. The movie is set to be released on June 24, 2016, but this might not happen since filming has not commenced and there is no director confirmed to helm the movie.
