'Tremors' 6 Release Date Pushed Back to May 2018
The production for "Tremors 6" has been plagued with a few hurdles since it went under way. Although the past few months seemed to have finally been smooth-sailing for the film series, a new report confirms that it has hit a snag yet again.
Earlier this year, it was reported that filming for the sixth installment of the franchise had already wrapped. On Sept. 7, however, one of its stars, Michael Gross, offered an important update about the tentatively-titled "Tremors 6" on Facebook and revealed that the film would be released not in January but in May of next year.
"Owing to background noise, some of Burt Gummer's lines could not be salvaged from the original Tremors 6 production track, requiring I do some ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement). I watch the image repeatedly, listening to the original production track on headphones, and re-perform each line to match the wording and lip movement—which can be challenging," he wrote.

The upcoming film was originally slated for release in Jan. 30, 2018, but due to added post-production work, it has been pushed back to May. Although Gross did not confirm that the hardly retrievable lines of Burt Gummer was the sole reason for the delay, it is certainly one of the reasons for it.
Gross' recent announcement was not great news for fans who have been eagerly looking forward to the sixth installment of the film series. "Tremors" is one of Universal Studios' most lucrative projects because of its huge and loyal fan base, so it is understandable why it has gone this far.
Aside from the upcoming "Tremors 6" movie, another "Tremors" TV series is currently being developed by Syfy as the network capitalizes on the franchise's popularity. This TV series will reportedly feature the return of Kevin Bacon's character Valentine McKee and will serve as a follow-up to the original film.
