Truli to Be Biggest Ever Christian Media and Social Networking Website?
Truli, the latest and possibly the biggest Christian social networking and content distribution website, is set to launch this summer, promising Christian artists unique opportunities for sharing their content with a broader audience.
Truli will not only serve as a social networking website, like Facebook, it will also feature sermons, music, concerts, movies, comedy and Internet/TV programs that the online community can enjoy, making it stand out from other Christian social networking websites -- such as the dating site ChristianMingle.com or the social JesusKlub.com.
The name, Truli, was apparently inspired from the Bible, from all the instances in which Jesus begins his sentences with the word "truly." One example the company's website offers is from John 3:11 : "Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen..."
Truli promises to open doors to new and diverse audiences for Christian musicians and filmmakers, who may have found it challenging to distribute their material in a largely secular-dominated entertainment industry. The network's subscription costs $9.95 a month, and will also be accessible on tablet and smartphone devices.
Interested parties will not have to wait until the full release of the website this summer, as they will be able to take advantage of the pre-release testing offer that allows them to provide feedback to the company prior to the public launch. Artists will be able to start uploading their content, and it will be accessible to early subscribers.
"The vision of Truli is to deliver relevant content offered from many perspectives, so that no matter where you're coming from or where you'd like to go, you can interact with the content that you need, when you need it, and from a prospective that speaks to you. We are excited to create a place where anyone can not only find relevant content, but then have a conversation with others and directly ask questions of an artist or ministry," Truli CEO Michael Jay Solomon explained in a press release.
He added that Truli's goal is to be both mobile and global. The real-time streaming of sermons, worship services and youth camp meetings allows pastors and ministers to share messages and experiences with people living in different areas around the world.
"Furthermore, Truli gives the ability for unlimited archives of material, which can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and on any device," said Solomon.
"In a world where we have on demand access to everything, I know that the Christian community is ready to have the access to a wide variety of Christian multimedia." explained Truli CFO Don Murray. "Likewise, our search features allows you to search across different types of media and even enter a word or phrase and go directly to the place you're looking for within a video. You can then create clips that you can share in your own social networks."
The way that Truli works is that it will share revenues generated from subscription sales with ministries and provide ministries with a wider audience from which to gain financial support. There will also be a donation option for ministries as a direct response by the viewer/listener. Users will be able to purchase an artist's or ministry's books, tapes, teaching series and more.
A number of artists who have already signed up with Truli include: Angela Blair, Tisha Strattford, Benny Perez / Church of South Las Vegas, Pastor Cash Luna, Andre & Jenny, beremedy, BigStuf Camps, Lanny Donoho (BigStuf), Bay Area Fellowship, New Ministry Partners, Fresh Anointing House of Worship (Kyle Searcy), Time of Grace Ministry, Righteous Insanity, B-U Entertainment, LAF Productions, Marriage Today, among others.
