In a Tuesday statement, the pro-choice activist group Reproductive Freedom for All's director of Arizona campaigns, Athena Salman, called the ruling a "reckless decision" that would put people in "life-threatening situations."

"We won't stop fighting back alongside our partners to restore abortion access in Arizona," Salman said. "We are mobilizing our members to elect leaders we know will fight for our freedoms and ensure the right to abortion is on the ballot so Arizonans can vote to restore and enshrine abortion into our state constitution."

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju also responded to the ruling Tuesday, citing it as the reason why voters must support Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego's Senate campaign and reelect President Joe Biden. Both Democratic leaders have vowed to advocate for abortion while serving in office.
