Trump's week in review: Challenging universal injunctions, arresting pro-Hamas protesters

2. Trump buys a Tesla, Musk announces Tesla output in the US will double
One of the most notable aspects of Trump’s second term is his appointment of Elon Musk as the head of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. Musk is well-known as the CEO of the electric car manufacturer Tesla.
In a post on Truth Social Tuesday, Trump lamented the effort by the political Left in the U.S. to “illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for.” Trump announced his intention to buy a “brand new Tesla [...] as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American.”
Trump purchased a red Tesla S model at an event at the White House on Wednesday as Musk and his young son looked on. He indicated that he wouldn't drive the car but rather keep it at the White House, where he would allow his staff to use it.
Musk made news at the gathering, proclaiming that “As a function of the great policies of President Trump and his administration, and as an act of faith in America, Tesla is going to DOUBLE vehicle output in the United States within the next two years.”
