'TsukiPro The Animation' Air Date, Spoilers: The Daily Lives of Japanese Idol Groups to Be Featured in Upcoming Music Anime Series
A Japanese music anime based on the popular music and original drama CD series "Tsukiuta" is coming this October. What truths and revelations will it feature about the seemingly glamorous, yet tough lives of male idol groups in Japan?
The upcoming original anime series will reportedly show the day-to-day life of male idols who are active in the music business. Titled, "TsukiPro The Animation," the series is based on "Tsukiuta," an audio drama series featuring characters that represent the 12 months of the year, each with his own corresponding personality, color, and musical style.
These characters perform as members of idol groups that record songs composed by popular Vocaloid producers. The bands whose members' lives will be featured in the said anime are Soara, Growth, SolidS, and Quell.
A series of promotional images from the first episode has been released, showing off the leaders of each idol group. In addition to this, a promotional video (PV) has also been shared on Tsukino Performing Arts Productions' YouTube channel. The PV features the song "Burny!!!" by SolidS.
Other songs that will be featured are "Aliel" by Soara, "Because You Are" by Quell, and "Mahou no Kizuna (Magic Bond)" by Growth.
The upcoming series is directed by Juria Matsumura, who has previously worked as the unit director on "Digimon Adventure tri." with Keitaro Motonaga serving as chief director. Series composition is handled by Reiko Yoshida, while Mariko Oka is in charge of adapting Yuu Satsuki's character designs for animation. The series is being produced by PRA.
The original story is credited to Fujiwara from the original story concepts of Ryouko Seki. Music composition is done by Tohiro Shjima, Akira Takizawa, and Takeshi Hama.
"TsukiPro The Animation" premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and at 11 p.m. JST on KBS Kyoto. Information on other broadcast schedule and online resources can be found on the series' official site.
