The original cast such as Kyle Maclachlan, Sheryl Lee, Madchen Amick, Phoebe Augustine, Richard Beymer, David Duchovny and Catherine Coulson will be returning to the series.

Maclachlan spoke to Deadline about his reaction upon finding out about the reboot. He said, "I was completely surprised when David said, "it looks like we're going to return," and I was very excited for two reasons really. One is the character of Dale Cooper, which is a lot of fun and the world of Twin Peaks. Secondly, the chance to work with David again because we haven't worked together as actor/director for 25 years roughly. So it's been a while. I missed that relationship very much."

Along with the original cast members, they will be joined by other new cast member such as Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Ashley Judd, Michael Cera, Jim Belushi and Amanda Seyfriend. However, there has yet to be any details regarding what roles they will be playing.

The upcoming revival of "Twin Peaks" is expected to begin filming later this year. Maclachlan explained that the executives hope to being production this fall. However, there has yet to be any news regarding the matter.
