Twitter Users Began Monday with 'Dear God'

Hundreds of Twitter users turned to God Monday morning, asking for help with the week, their lives, and their dreams.

It is unknown why so many users to decided to suddenly turn to God.

"Dear God" became one of the most popular topics on Twitter Monday morning as hundreds of users took to talking to God on Twitter. "Dear god, I know that we don't talk much. And I know we don't have a relationship, but I'm willing to start one," Zarah said.

Some users began their Monday by asking for God's support during the week. "Dear God, As the week starts, I pray that you bless me & whoever is reading this With a clean heart: Free from hatred,No tears,& No fear," Krystal Evans wrote.

Others opened up to God about concerns that were plaguing their life recently. "Dear God, I really don't want to be single again on valentines day. Please send me someone to be with me for the rest of my lonely days," Kida wrote.

Many were grateful for God's blessings. Banco Populair wrote, "Dear God we thank you for another chance to get things right we know that nothing is possible without you&that you are our strength amen."

Pat Anne Soriano tweeted, "Dear God, Thank you for being there when nobody else was,"- a message re-tweeted by many other users.

Myra Swarovski talked to God about her future. "Dear God, please tell me that your plan is better than my dreams," she wrote.

Bobby Rainey didn't ask for anything from God at all. "Dear god, i wanna take a minute, not to ask for anything from you. But simply to say thank you, for all you have done!!" Many other users retweeted this message as well.

Within ten minutes, another 166 tweets began with "Dear God."

The Dear God Project could be the cause for the hundreds of prayers that circulated on Twitter Monday morning. The Dear God Project, according to their website, is "a global platform for sharing inner hopes, fears and aspirations through the medium of prayer" which encourages users to tweet their prayers.

It is uncertain why so many decided to begin their Monday morning with prayer, however.
