'Two Car' Air Date, Spoilers: Battle for Sidecar Racing Excellence Begins in October
The race is on across the roads of Miyake Island as high schoolers Yuri Miyata and Megumi Meguro battle it out with six other pairs of competitors to become the best motorcycle sidecar racers on the upcoming Japanese sports anime series, "Two Car."
Yuri and Megumi couldn't have been any more different. While they're both studying in the same school and are both the only daughters in their respective families, Yuri is the kind of nonsensical girl who is responsible and methodical — a great contrast to the boyish Megumi's bright and cheerful personality.
They do, however, have one thing in common: they both love to race. And with Yuri's exceptional eye for detail on the driver's seat and Megumi's outstanding reflexes and intuition on the passenger sidecar, they make up the Tokyo Metropolitan Miyake Girls' High School's sidecar racing team. And together with their hard working mechanic, Mutsuki, they will compete against other perfectly and oddly paired teams to become the number one sidecar racers in all of Japan.
The series is an original Japanese anime created by Nikoichi and directed by Masafumi Tamura for SILVER LINK. Katsuhiko Takayama is both supervising and writing the series scripts, while Tiy is credited for drafting the original character design that has been adapted into animation by Yuki Sawairi.
Toshiki Kameyama is responsible for the sound direction, while Ryo Takahashi is in charge of musical composition. Lantis is producing the music, which will feature songs from Sphere, and Void_Chords feat. Aoi Koga and Aimi Tanaka for the series' opening and ending themes respectively.
A spinoff manga series created by doujin artist Eromame will also debut in the November issue of the Comic Alive magazine, while a main manga adaptation is set to launch in October on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website.
"Two Car" premieres on Saturday, Oct. 7, at midnight JST on AT-X and on Monday, Oct. 9, at late night 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS Fuji. Additional information on other broadcast schedules and online resources will be available at a later date.
