Tyra Banks 'Really Ready to Have Some Babies'
Media mogul and former model Tyra Banks is hoping to add one more title to her name: mother. Banks, host of "America's Next Top Model" spoke with Steve Harvey about her desire to have children of her own in the next few years.
"I'm really ready to have some babies. I want babies!" she enthusiastically stated on "The Steve Harvey Show." "I've always wanted them, but I've been saying, 'I want babies in three years' since I was, like 27. And now I'm 28,'" Banks explained while joking about her age.
She has been a mother figure to aspiring models for the past 19 cycles of "America's Next Top Model," and has played an active role in the girls' careers and lives. In the latest season, Banks took on the task of turning college girls into professional models, which was a unique challenge and included the youngest cast ever.
Banks has been fiercely private about her personal life, including her romances. There are rumors that she is dating her "ANTM" co-star Rob Evans, but Banks quickly dismissed those on Harvey's show. So while it's unknown whether or not Banks is actually in a relationship, one thing is certain: she feels ready to have children.
"I think it's time. [My eggs are] going to be hard-boiled and friend and scrambled up in there, so it's time to get those eggs working!" Banks joked. The 38-year-old is keenly aware that time may not be on her side when it comes to her fertility and having her own children.
Banks is familiar with being a single parent. After her own parents' divorce at a young age, her mother primarily raised her. The two worked hard to break into the modeling industry and were finally successful when Banks was 16. The rest, as they say, is history.
If all else fails, Banks always has the option to adopt. There have been several unsubstantiated rumors that she has already begun looking into the process. Either way, it looks like Banks will make her dream of having children a reality.
