Ubisoft Announces New Victorian London Setting for 'Assassin's Creed: Syndicate' (VIDEO)
Ubisoft has announced they will be releasing "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" set in Victorian London by the last quarter of 2015 for PS4 and Xbox One.
French game developer Ubisoft is reeling out the latest installment in their historical action adventure video game with "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" that's due out on October 23 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC version following soon after.
The upcoming open world stealth game, to be set in Victorian London, will feature male and female protagonists this time around, allowing players to take on the character of a woman assassin, should they choose.
Two main characters, named Jacob and Evie, play brother and sister who are deeply immersed in Victorian London's criminal underworld running their own crime syndicate, and rallying the city's underground denizens to overthrow the ruling Templars.
Apart from a main female protagonist, players will have to deal with a number of female enemies, as well.
Players will be given the goal of creating their own criminal syndicate, recruiting gang members, and accomplishing a number of side missions to supplement the storyline's main mission.
According to GameSpot, Ubisoft has reinvented the stealth and combat mechanics in this latest installment in the series, and is utilizing new systemic vehicles, which players can hijack GTA-style.
Apart from heavy emphasis on carriage rides and grappling hooks, there will be a new Batman-style rope launcher to help Jacob and Evie get around the city.
Following the "Assassin's Creed: Unity" experiment using multiplayer, "Syndicate" will be a strictly single player game, with street brawls, fights atop moving carriages, trains and boats, and cameos by important personages of the period, including Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin.
Following the release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version, the PC release is set for late 2015 around the holidays.
