UEFA Euro 2016 Wales vs Russia: The Dragons Aim to Defeat Under-Performing Russians; Kickoff, TV Info, Tickets and Live Stream
Welsh Players are Expecting a Tough Game Against the Russians
After losing to England on Thursday, Wales is hoping to defeat the Russians on Monday and move forward to the knockout rounds of the UEFA Euro 2016.
Gareth Bale to Lead Wales
The Dragons would need to secure a goal early in the game for them to make up for the 2-1 loss versus England. Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale is expected to lead his team versus the powerful Russian players like Sergei Ignashevich and Vasili Berezutski.
Another player to watch out for in the Wales lineup is Hal Robson-Kanu, the midfielder who has already scored three goals in the tournament. If the Welsh players would be able to find their way to outplay the Russians, there is a big chance for them to make it to the knockout phase for the very first time.
Coleman's Expectations
Coleman is nothing but excited to see his team win games in the UEFA Euro 2016. "It's intense but it's enjoyable. We're in a fantastic position and we have to enjoy it," the Wales manager added.
He also noted that the tournament has pushed the team to its limits and taught them a lot of things. Coleman recognized Russia's strengths and claimed that they are expecting a difficult game on Monday.
What is Russia's Gameplay?
On the other hand, Russia has not performed really well during the entire tournament, with players losing a lot of chances to score goals for the team. The performance of the players in the past games may push coach Leonid Slutsky to change the lineup for the game versus Wales.
The team will also be missing midfielder Oleg Shatov since he has been dealing with groin issues for the past days. Slutsky said that Wales has always been known to be a team with great offense, but noted that Russian players Denis Glushakov and Roman Shirokov are also expected to provide strong attacks for their team.
Teams' History
The two teams have met only four times with Wales not securing any win versus the Russians. They faced off during the Euro 2004 and the 2010 World Cup, but the Welsh players failed to win any of the two matches.
The kick-off is at 8 p.m. at the Stadium Municipal in Toulouse, France. Tickets are sold for about $180.
