UFC News 2015: Analyst Joe Rogan Wants Frankie Edgar To Get Title Shot, Lightweight Contender Donald Cerrone Wants McGregor Fight
UFC veteran color commentator Joe Rogan prefers to have a fight between undisputed featherweight champion Conor McGregor and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, instead of an immediate José Aldo rematch.
During his Monday episode of his podcast entitled "The Joe Rogan Experience", the former "Fear Factor" host believes Edgar is more deserving of the fight, since an instant rematch with Aldo would be "hard to sell".
Aldo was knocked out within merely 13 seconds of the fight, signalling the end of his six-year reign as the first and only UFC featherweight champion.

Rogan adds that while giving Aldo the immediate rematch would be the company's norm, doing so would not be a viable idea.
"Compelling contenders where you look at their style and the style of the current champion," Rogan said in the podcast. "If you wanted to make the most intriguing stylistic matchup, I think it's Frankie Edgar."
Meanwhile, lightweight title contender Donald Cerrone says he would also welcome the idea of fighting "The Notorious," if the latter decides to come up in weight. "Cowboy" will be taking on a tough task this weekend in Orlando, Florida, as he headlines UFC on FOX 17, where he will be fighting for lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos' title.
After his performance at UFC 194 on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, McGregor immediately revealed his intention to come up to the lightweight division and fight for the 155-pound title. Cerrone does have a chance to win the belt and actually face McGregor, if all chips fall into place.
Given the situation, this is what he had to say. "That would be a huge payday fight," Cerrone said in a video interview with MMA Weekly. "I'll fight anybody, it won't matter to me."
In another report by ESPN, UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta predicted that Conor McGregor can actually become the company's first $100 million earner.
