'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' Release Date: Delay Was Predicted by Colin Moriarty, Neil Druckmann Acknowledges #ColinWasRight
Last week, developer Naughty Dog announced another delay for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's" release date. The delay, it seems, was predicted by KindaFunny's co-founder months ago. "Uncharted 4's" game's writer and creative director even acknowledged in social media that the prediction had been right.
On Wednesday, Dec. 23, a couple of days before Christmas day, Naughty Dog announced that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will release on April 26, 2016 in North America instead of the previously scheduled release date of March 18. The game has been delayed twice already, with its initial release window set for the fourth quarter of 2015.
Naughty Dog revealed that the delay was caused by several key sequences that needed more resources and polish passes to be truly finished. Although disappointed with the game's release date pushed further a second time, fans and followers were quick to express their support for the developer's decision, trusting that the team would deliver a great game from day one.
"Uncharted 4's" fans and followers were also quick to point out that the delay had been predicted by Colin Moriarty on Twitter. Back in September, Moriarty tweeted the following:
"I predict Uncharted 4 will be delayed from its March 18, 2016 launch date. Though I hope and pray I'm wrong."
Now more than a couple of months after, Moriarty has been proven right. Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann even acknowledged that yes, #ColinWasRight.
Druckmann tweeted about the new date and provided a link to their official statement published on Sony's PlayStation Blog. The tweet was followed a few minutes after with "And yes. #colinwasright."
Moriarty was with IGN before co-founding KindaFunny.
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be closing the chapter of Nathan Drake's treasure-hunting adventures. The game is also expected to be the last game of the "Uncharted" series.
