'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection' News: New Modes Revealed for Special Edition
Sony Computer Entertainment announced in early August that they are releasing a Special Edition of the action-adventure video game "Uncharted" which is called "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection." This is a bundled edition of all games of the series and exclusive for the PS4 console. The Special Edition, according to an IGN report, will be making its way to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK and the US.
The games included in the bundle are "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" for the PS4 console. Also included in the package is an artbook entitled "Art of Uncharted Trilogy," a steelbook and exclusive stickers. The games have been remastered by Bluepoint Games with 1,080p graphics and 60 frames-per-second.
As for gameplay improvements, another IGN report revealed that there are three new game modes that will be made available in the special edition. The revelation was made by the game's original developer, Naughty Dog, which says that the game will also have a photo mode, together with the three new ways to play.
The modes, according to the report, are based on levels of gameplay difficulty. The mode that is best for beginners who want less combat difficulty is called the Explorer Mode. Another mode is called Speed Run Mode which tracks the player's time as one goes through the different sections of the game with the intention of comparing it against other players. The last new mode being introduced is called Brutal Difficulty, which is supposed to be worse than the existing mode Crushing Difficulty. This last mode is only unlocked after the player gets past Crushing Difficulty mode.
Aside from the modes, a player can also choose any one of the 65 character skins when playing the game's single player campaigns. Players who also avail of the special edition will gain special access to the multiplayer beta of the upcoming "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."
Gamers in Europe, Australia and New Zealand can get a hold of the collection on October 7. Those in Ireland, the UK and the US will be able to get it on October 9.
