Neither developer Naughty Dog nor the game's publisher Sony Computer Entertainment have confirmed the date as the game's official release.

Initially pegged to have a 2015 release window during Sony's press conference at the E3 2014, the date was pushed back after many of the game's story elements and months of shooting were rejected.

"Unchartered 4: A Thief's End" is expected to continue the story of fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, who comes out of retirement after his long-believed-dead older brother Sam suddenly appears seeking his help to solve a conspiracy.

The story takes place three years after the events of the previous title, "Unchartered 3: Drake's Deception" and will take Nathan and Sam on a worldwide journey to unravel the conspiracy behind a pirate colony long thought to be disbanded, and search out the colony's famed pirate treasure.

The next chapter in the Drake saga will have a locked fps rate of 30 frames-per-second at 1080p resolution to allow for smoother gameplay experience.

A Naughty Boy representative also told GameReactor.eu that players may expect collectibles in upcoming game. The collectibles are said to be in its early development, and are likely to be included in "Unchartered 4" pre-orders.

"Unchartered 4: A Thief's End" will be released in single-player and multiplayer modes for PlayStation 4 when it is released in the market by spring next year.
