'Under the Dome' Season 3 – Will the enemy within break the dome and end the series?

With two more episodes to bring "Under the Dome" Season 3 to an end, rumors have emerged that the last episode, "The Enemy Within" might have the Dome break open and its prisoners free at last.

In last week's episode, Barbie had been infected by a virus and went into dementia mode. All this was the handy work of Christine. He gets his memory back when Julia reminded him of something in the woods. Julia is happy about this and wants Barbie to join the resistance and fight against Christine. But Barbie suddenly brings up his responsibility as a father after Eva becomes pregnant following a brief encounter between the two.

The recently-shown episode tells the viewers that the Eva has now given birth with the help of Barbie and Julia. Barbie and Julia are forced to escape when the kinship arrives. Eva regains her human essence as her life force goes to her baby and unfortunately for her, she is now of no use to Christine. Christine kills her and takes the baby.

In the meantime, the resistance fighters try to free their family members who are in Christine's custody. They are also trying to find a cure for the people of Chester's Mill. Joe and Christine team up and Christine reveals the "Entity" who is responsible for the Dome.

The finale of Season 3 has been made into a "Series Finale" in case CBS feels the series should end. There are lots of things working right for "Under the Dome" and it has a fairly good following. It has also partnered up with Amazon for a streaming arrangement. Plus, "Under the Dome" is one of the most-recorded shows of the week.

It is still not clear whether the finale to be aired on September 10 will indeed be the end of the Dome. There were rumors that the "sets of the Dome" were broken down and if the show is renewed for another season, they would be moving to another location.

CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said at the Television Critics Association's press tour, "[The dome coming down] opens up a host of other storytelling opportunities, you just don't know what will happen when the dome comes down."
