US Electoral 2016 Updates: Men and Whites Turn Away From Donald Trump as Clinton Takes Massive Lead
Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton leads Republican Trump 48 percent to 33 percent
In the latest poll conducted by McClatchy-Marist, it was revealed that Hillary Clinton has a huge 15-point lead against Donald Trump. The Republican candidate also lost the support of men as well as white voters which led to the Democratic candidate going up, according to the poll.
Donald Trump was up 14 percent points among male voters last month, but he is now down 8 points. And while Trump lost support from men, Clinton remained strong over female voters with a 20-point lead.
Trump losing support from most groups
Trump has slowly built the support of numerous groups in the past months; but now, he is down in almost every group. And even with white voters who supported Republican White House aspirants during the past elections, Trump was down here too. He is behind Clinton at 41 – 39.
Clinton moving past Trump with moderates, black voters and Latinos
Aside from winning the votes of females as well as white voters, Clinton has also won among moderates with 50-27 percent, black voters with 93-2, and with Latino voters 55-26 percent. The Democratic presidential aspirant also maintained a huge lead with the constituency that supported President Barrack Obama over the years.
Why voters are abandoning Trump
Clinton was able to charm a large number of groups because of the pro-America message that the Democratic convention managed to convey. Even before Clinton spoke on stage, the crowd was prepped by positive speeches from none other than the President himself as well as other personalities who supported Clinton's campaign. Trump's speech was all about negativity and convincing people that he was the only hope to get things done.
The Democratic Party also helped Clinton select Senator Tim Kaine as her vice president. Kaine is from the South and a man of faith, which basically makes it easier to appeal to male voters and white voters altogether.
More positive notes from Clinton – Kaine campaign
As Donald Trump insulted the families of war vets, Clinton and Kaine supported them. Clinton even mentioned that she plans to create jobs for the group while Trump merely disrespected them. Reports say that if Trump loses among male voters and wins by a small margin among whites, then Hillary will win by a landslide.
Clinton also ahead in NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll and CNN/ORC poll
Aside from the latest McClatchy-Marist poll, Clinton also led the NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll by 9 points at 47 to 38 percent. She led Trump with 5 points early July. The Democratic presidential candidate also led the CNN/ORC survey by 9 points.
