Usher, Justin Bieber in Panama: Singer Staging an Intervention for Troubled Teen?
Usher and Justin Bieber are in Panama and it's possible the successful R&B pop star could be staging somewhat of an intervention for the troubled teen singing sensation. Usher, who helped discover Bieber in 2009, is at Punta Chame resort alongside Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, his mother Pattie Mallette, his friend Ryan Butler.
Usher and Justin Bieber were confirmed to be at the hotel late Sunday afternoon by an anonymous source, according to people. The 35-year-old singer has in the past functioned as a mentor for the coming-of-age Canadian pop star. There have been Bieber sightings posted on social media by various people since he arrived on Saturday.
While the trip has all the elements of a much-needed vacation for the singer after his recent arrest, some believe Bieber's friends and family are in the Central American country for an intervention.
"Sources tell us Usher flew to Panama for a serious come-to-Jesus with JB on the heels of his arrest in Miami," TMZ reported. "We haven't heard this word used, but this meeting has all the earmarks of an intervention."
Other rumors have been spread by Daily Mail suggesting the pop star spends exorbitant amounts of money a week on marijuana, codeine and prescription drugs. However, all of these are unsubstantiated.
Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach Thursday after drag racing a rented yellow Lamborghini, driving while under the influence, and smoking marijuana. The "Boyfriend" singer admitted to police officers that he had been using drugs and prescription medication when he was taken in.
