'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers, Cast News: Episode 16 Directed By Cast
Actor Ian Somerhalder won't only be suiting up as his iconic character Damon Salvatore but will also be sitting behind the camera for the 16th episode of the hit supernatural drama "The Vampire Diaries."
According to spoiler reports, Somerhalder will be directing the upcoming episode titled "The Downward Spiral" which will air this coming Thursday, Jan. 22, at its designated timeslot on The CW.
Considered to be his first directorial gig, the 36-year-old "Lost" actor took to his social media to tell the fans of his recent involvement in TVD, now as an episode director.
"Thank you to all involved in the decision-making process for giving me the opportunity to do this-I am so grateful. I'll do my very verry very best not to screw it up," wrote Somerhalder on his Instagram while posting a photo of the script page.
Working along with Somerhalder in this episode is Brian Young and Caroline Dries as co-writer.
It has to be noted though that this won't be the first wherein a TVD cast member directs an episode. Previously, actor Paul Wesley, who played as Damon's elder brother, Stefan, had done a directorial job in for the show's 18th episode on its 5th season titled "Resident Evil."
This was followed after with the 6th season's 11th segment titled "Woke Up with A Monster" which is also scheduled to hit the small screens next year.
According to spoiler reports, the Paul Wesley-helmed episode will reveal what Kai (Chris Wood) wants from Elena (Nina Dobrev) after he knocked her out in the ending scene of the mid-season finale "Christmas Through Your Eyes."
On the other hand, not much has been known for Somerhalder's episode other than its release date mentioned above.
