'Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Spoilers: Damon to Relive Traumatic Civil War Experience
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will see Damon suffering while inside the Phoenix Stone when the series returns for its midseason premiere.
In the upcoming midseason premiere titled "Hell Is Other People," Damon and Stefan will be the focus of the story. "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will feature Damon reliving his traumatic Civil War experiences, but Stefan's fate is still unknown, according to TV Over Mind.
In the previous episode, the Salvatore brothers were stabbed using the Phoenix Stone sword. The act had sent both their souls inside the Stone and allowed them to be tormented with their personal hell, the International Business Times recalls.
Photos shared by The CW hint that viewers may come across new discoveries about Damon. Based on the network's description of episode 10 of season 7, what he will undergo inside the Phoenix stone will leave a permanent mark on him, the report details.
Trapped inside the Phoenix stone after Julian's attempt to avenge Lily's death, Damon will have to face his personal hell so that he could get out of the stone. Meanwhile, Bonnie will struggle to get Damon out of the stone before it changes him forever, the report relays.
Getting out of the Stone might be a very difficult task, especially because Damon has the most personal demons among the series' characters. Executive producer Caroline Dries previously revealed that Damon's experience inside the Phoenix Stone will be the main feature of the midseason premiere.
Julian was able to break out of his personal hell without being changed by it forever. However, it is worth noting that the soul that Alaric took from the Stone to put in Jo's body does not remember her life as a vampire. This is the outcome that Bonnie may be trying to prevent.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will return for its midseason premiere on Friday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
