Van Halen 2012 Tour Confirmed
Legendary rock band Van Halen has announced a new tour for 2012 featuring at least three original members of the group.
Tickets go on sale Jan. 10, 2012.
The 2012 tour will be the rock band’s 40th anniversary of their founding. Although the band was founded without Roth, many of Van Halen’s fans remember the four rockers being led by Roth’s unique vocals.

In addition to a massive tour, Van Halen is also in the works with a new album, which should be completed sometime in 2012. That, combined with the success of the band’s last tour with Roth, could make for massive support from fans.
Van Halen could use its last tour in 2007 as a largely safe model for their 2012 tour. Then, the band’s 74-stop tour garnered national attention and an outpouring of encouragement from audiences, who had not seen lead vocalist Roth with the band since his departure in 1985. The lead singer also had an unsuccessful stint with the band in 1996, but it was short-lived.
Because of the notorious clashes between Van Halen’s band members over various aspects of their music and management, it could be considered a surprise that the rockers have managed to stay together and be civil since their resurgence in 2007.
On the last tour, a 54-year-old Roth yelled to the audience, “It took us 20 years to get this f----n’ far!” referring to his bandmates, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The four current members of Van Halen are: Eddie Van Halen, the lead guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer; Alex Van Halen, the drummer; Wolfgang Van Halen, the bassist and Eddie Van Halen’s 20-year-old son; and David Lee Roth, the lead singer and a songwriter.
The foursome created a promotional video on the band’s Website, van-halen.com, to create a buzz for their upcoming tour. Very little details have been released about the shows so far.
