1. Vance warns of ‘historic immigration crisis,’ Walz quotes Matthew 25

In response to a question about illegal immigration, Vance declared, “We have a historic immigration crisis because Kamala Harris started and said that she wanted to undo all of Donald Trump’s border policies.” Vance then outlined what he sees as the solution to the problem: “You’ve got to reimplement Donald Trump’s border policies, build the wall, [and] reimplement deportations.”

Vance elaborated on the implications of the “historic immigration crisis,” proclaiming, “You’ve got schools that are overwhelmed, you’ve got hospitals that are overwhelmed, you have got housing that is totally unaffordable because we brought in millions of illegal immigrants to compete with Americans for scarce homes.”

When it was Walz’s turn to weigh in on the topic of illegal immigration, the Democratic vice presidential nominee maintained that Trump failed to follow through on his immigration campaign promises during his term in office: “Donald Trump had four years. He had four years to do this. And he promised you, America, how easy it would be. ‘I’ll build you a big, beautiful wall and Mexico will pay for it.’ Less than 2% of that wall got built and Mexico didn’t pay a dime.”

Walz also recited the Bible passage Matthew 25:40 when signaling support for what he viewed as a compassionate immigration policy: “To the least amongst us, you do unto me.”
