Vancouver Canucks vs Calgary Flames Live Stream: Watch Online NHL Playoffs
The Vancouver Canucks play at home to try and extend the series as the play the Calgary Flames at the Rodgers Arena in the NHL playoffs. Their Western Conference clash is on April 23, 2015 at 10 p.m. ET.
Calgary have shown their strength against the older veterans as they have beaten them to the puck as they have built a 3-1 series lead.
Despite being seeded lower than Vancouver, the Flames took Game 1 at Rodgers Arena, displaying that they are indeed a force in the West.
However, the Canucks responded in the second game with a 4-1 victory, but have failed to replicate the form in the following two games.
As soon as the scene shifted to Calgary, things have gone in favour of the Flames.
In their most recent victory, the Flames took less shots on goal but were more efficient as they beat Vancouver 3-1. All the goals were scored in the first period, and Vancouver failed to mount a comeback as Jonas Hiller was spectacular in between the posts for the Flames.
Johnny Gaundreau opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the fourth minute of the match but it was immediately leveled less than five minutes later with Vancouver's own power-play goal from Henrik Sedin. However, Jin Hudler restored the one-goal lead in only a little over a minute with a second power-play goal before Sam Bennett gave Calgary a two-goal cushion by scoring with less than a minute left in the period.
Vancouver goalkeeper Eddie Lack was replaced by Ryan Miller after the first period and Miller was able to hold his own, stopping a total of 15 shots. However, the Canucks could not mount any offense as they surrender the game and are now down 3-1 in the series.
With a win sending the Flames to the next round, expect Vancouver to do what it takes to extend it.
