Vanessa Paradis New Short Hair: Actress Shocks Fans Amid Johnny Depp Engagement Rumors
Vanessa Paradis shocked fans with a completely new look just as reports arose that her ex Johnny Depp is engaged this week.
The French actress stepped out with her friend, famed hairstylist John Nollet, on Wednesday when she debuted a short, curly brown hairdo, according to the Daily Mail.
Paradis, 41, appeared happy and relaxed while dining at the Los Angeles eatery Aroma Café, offering fans a hint that the starlet has moved on since her break up from Depp in June 2012.
For his part, Depp has also moved on. The actor has been linked to his "Rum Diaries" co-star Amber Heard since right after his split from Paradis, and the couple are reportedly engaged today.
Heard, 27, was spotted with a ring on her left ring finger on Monday, according to E! News.
Meanwhile, a statement from Depp's publicist confirmed the end of his 14-year relationship with Paradis back in 2012.
"Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated," the statement read. "Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children."
The pair shares a daughter, Lily Rose, 15, and a son, Jack, 12.
Almost a year after the breakup from Paradis, Depp admitted, "it wasn't easy."
"The last couple years have been a bit bumpy," the actor revealed to Rolling Stone magazine. "At times, certainly unpleasant, but that's the nature of breakups, I guess, especially when there are kids involved."
Depp discussed the difficult task of maintaining a relationship while being one of the biggest actors in Hollywood.
"Relationships are very difficult," he said. "Especially in the racket that I'm in because you're constantly away or they're away and so it's hard. It wasn't easy on her. It wasn't easy on me. It wasn't easy on the kids."
Nevertheless, Depp said he would always hold Paradis in high regard as the mother of his children.
"You'll always know each other, and you're always gonna be in each other's lives because of those kids," he said. "You might as well make the most of it."
