'VeggieTales' Live Nationwide Tour Brings the Hits
VeggieTales, one of the longest running staples of children's Christian programming, is getting the live treatment with a 35-city tour running from Feb. 23 through April 15, 2012.
"VeggieTales Live! God Made You Special Tour" by Big Idea Entertainment will hit major market cities like Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, and more as the show brings fun family entertainment with a positive message and a Christian twist.
The show, one part story and one part musical, will feature the classic duo of Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber along with their other veggie friends as they sing "Silly Songs with Larry" favorites like: "His Cheeseburger," "Love My Lips," "The Hairbrush Song," plus many others.

"We're delighted to have an entirely new VeggieTales Live! tour kick off this spring," said General Manager of Big Idea Entertainment, Leslie Ferrell, in a press release. "Our live tours are fun for the whole family and filled with memory-making experiences for parents and their children. We have some surprises in store with the God Made You Special tour that we're looking forward to sharing with fans across the country!"
Also partnering with VeggieTales is World Vision, who provides necessities for children all over the world including: food, clean water, health care, education, and other various helpful needs in the community.
Big Idea Entertainment has also created "3-2-1 Penguins," another show in the same vein as VeggieTales, minus the produce.
Created in 1993, VeggieTales has become the highest selling home video children's series for moms with preschoolers of all time – selling over 56 million videos, 13 million books, and seven million CDs, according to Hoganson Media.
The series has produced two hit movies, "Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie" in 2002 and "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie" in 2008.
VeggieTales has averaged two home video releases a year for a total of 45 episodes in all since 1993.
They also have six video games, and 38 albums.
