Veterans Day Falls on 11/11/11; Restaurants Promote Free Meals, Massive Discounts
In celebration of Veterans Day, food chain giants are promoting huge giveaway deals for customers and members of the armed forces. Today, 11/11/11, is the day of appreciation for troops and food chains are not holding back.
To take advantage of today's restaurant deals, all veterans and active duty members have to do is show proof of service with their military I.D.
Subway is celebrating Veterans Day by offering free regular 6-inch subs in participating restaurants to all those brave soldiers of America's armed services.
Also, soldiers who buy one entrée at T.G.I. Friday's will receive another entrée for free.
Not to be outdone, KFC is promoting the hugest giveaway yet. The Colonel is celebrating Veterans Day and its 11 Herbs and Spices by giving away free chicken for a year! The year's supply of chicken will be given away for 11 consecutive hours to 11 different KFC followers beginning at 11 a.m. To join in on the deal, all you have to do is follow the Colonel of Twitter.
On Applebee's website, people are encouraged to "join in on the world's largest ongoing military thank you," and write thank you notes to our soldiers. One note from Newton, N.J., reads: "I can't even begin to say how grateful I am to all of your for your service to and protection of this country! Thank you!!!"
Along with messages of support, Applebee's will provide free meals all day long for current and former members of the military.
