'Vikings' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Summer 2015 Premiere, Main Character to Die?

The Canadian-Irish historical drama television series, "Vikings," is going to be premiered during the summer of 2015. History channel renewed the series for a 10-episode third season on March 25 earlier this year.

Several cast members and a number of crew members as well made their appearance during the San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. They also gave an interview to Yahoo! TV a month ago, revealing a few details about the next upcoming season.

"It's only going to get grittier, and I think that's why fans are absolutely in love with it right now," said Alexander Ludwig, who plays Bjorn in the series.

Katheryn Winnick, who played Lagertha, expressed her excitement over the next season as well as revealing some details about the fight scenes.

"Season 3 is even more epic than Season 2. If you thought you loved Season 2, Season 3 just takes it to a whole new level," Winnick said.

"We had some shield maidens last year that went into full-on martial arts training just to understand how to hold a sword properly, just so they could be background actors," she added.

There are no notable spoiler updates on the upcoming third season of the series and it still stands that at least one loved character in the series will die. All speculations are on Kevin Durand's character, the Wanderer. Although Durand has already spoken about the death of his character, there may still be others who will face the chopping block in the upcoming season.
