Virgin Mary Statue Seen 'Crying' in Video at California Home After Murder
The owner of a Virgin Mary statue in Fresno, California, believes the statue in her possession has been "crying" for the past 18 months, ever since her cousin was murdered.
Maria Cardenas told a local ABC News station that the statue, which she received as a Mother's Day gift 10 years ago, secretes tears in her right eye which then stream down her face.
Cardenas said she "doesn't understand why she's doing it," but noted it could be linked to the murder of her cousin, Jessie Lopez, who was killed 18 months ago.

Visitors to the house in Fresno have also affirmed that the statue of Mary is crying.
"That's amazing. It takes the words out of my mouth, like wow. I'm so amazed," said neighbor Richard Quintana, who went to see the alleged miracle for himself.
The caretaker of the statue, who did not want to be identified, told ABC Action News that priests have traveled to the location to look at the weeping statue and have called it a "miracle."
"We're not hiding her, but at the same time, we don't want anything to happen to her," the caretaker said about the statue.
Catholic Online reported that other witnesses have claimed that the tears are "oily and smell like roses."
The statue has not yet been studied by the Roman Catholic Church, so there has not yet been a pronouncement on the authenticity of the alleged miracle.
In another story back in January, a Catholic family in British Colombia said that the tears of the Virgin Mary are soaking one of their apartment walls.
Reports of the miracle reportedly drew over 300 worshipers who came to pray at the family's apartment.
"Mary said don't let anyone touch the wall because they're touching her face, and she doesn't want people to touch her face," said Salwan Alyais, the son of devout Catholic Sanna Lona.
A number of reports of Mary statues crying have made the news in the past few years, including at a Catholic Church in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, where parishioners said a Mary statue has been growing taller, smiling, and crying.
Visitors to the church shared photos and videos on social media that allegedly showed the statue growing taller by three inches at various times, and in other clips could be observed smiling, or even shedding tears.
