Virginia Earthquake Felt in New York and New Jersey
An earthquake has hit the state of Virginia at approximately 1:51 p.m. on Tuesday. At a magnitude of 5.8, tremors were felt along the east coast, including Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland, New York and New Jersey.
Many buildings in affected states have been evacuated.
Newark City Hall in New Jersey was evacuated just after the tremor was felt. Reports from NJ.com state that movement was felt for several minutes.
