'Voodoo Vince' Remastered Release Date News: Visually Enhanced Title Arrives Next Month
The remastered version of "Voodoo Vince" gets its release date and it is arriving in April.
It was first revealed in October 2016 that "Voodoo Vince" was going to be remade with enhanced graphics to match the capacity of the latest gaming platforms from Microsoft. And recently, media outlets got word that "Voodoo Vince: Remastered" will go live on Tuesday, April 18.
"Voodoo Vince" was originally launched in 2003 exclusively for the Xbox. This year, its remastered version is going to be made available for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
Players will assume the character of Vince who, obviously, looks like a voodoo doll clad in stitched up burlap, patches, and a button for an eye. Unsurprisingly, players will have to navigate their way while capitalizing on Vince's "voodoo powers."
When Beep Games, Inc. founder Clayton Kauzlaric announced the remastered release in October 2016, he said in a statement through Xbox Wire: "What's in the new version? It's wide screen now, of course, in glorious 1080p and running at 60fps. The rendering engine is being rewritten from the ground up with lots of crisp new textures and rendering effects. ... The gameplay is mostly untouched, though. ... Vince moves, animates, and controls exactly like he did in 2003. You can just see a lot more detail in his world when he moves through our twisted version of New Orleans and the Bayou."
Since its 2003 release, "Voodoo Vince" has gotten fairly good to average consumer and critics' responses based on ratings aggregator websites like Metacritic and GameRankings. On Metacritic, the game currently has an average of 73 out of 100 ratings based on 38 critics review, while it garnered a 76.87% score at GameRankings.
Aside from Vince, players will encounter other characters such as Madam Charmaine, a woman who owns a voodoo shop at New Orleans' French Quarter. She is the one who created Vince so she maintains a telepathic connection with the game's main protagonist.
Players will also have to deal with enemy Kosmo the Inscrutable, who relentlessly tries to steal Madam Charmaine's powers in order to succeed in his plans of world domination. He is helped by his clownish assistants Jeb and Fingers.
