'Warcraft' Movie Premiere Date & Update: Full Trailer Released, Plot Centers on Battle of Alliance and Horde
Legendary Pictures and Universal Studios have finally released the full trailer for Duncan Jones' "Warcraft" movie. According to IGN, the full trailer of the epic fantasy film debuted during the BlizzCon 2015 which took place on Friday. Director Jones and some of the actors of the film graced the event for the reveal.
By just looking at the trailer, fans can already tell that it's going to be a movie worth waiting for and checking out. They are already thrilled and excited to catch the video game-based movie when it premieres next year in summer.
The trailer kicked off with a captivating view of the world where the story will take place. It then showed main characters Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), the leaders of the human, and Orc Chieftain Durotan (Toby Kebbell), leader of the exiled Frostwolf clan of orcs, in action revealing the plot of the movie.
The Alliance is threatened by the Orc Horde, which is seeking a new home in a new world since their old home is dying. This basically led the peaceful realm of Azeroth to be shaken as its civilization faces a terrifying race of invaders.
The official plot summary of the film released by Universal/Legendary said: "From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something."
The trailer showed how promising the movie will be as it gave fans a glimpse of the large-scale action sequences, iconic locations and coldblooded character clashes. The actions and effects are stunning while the mix of both costumed and motion-captured characters are impressive as it stayed true to the aesthetic of the original games.
Aside from Fimmel and Kebbel, Den of Geek detailed that the film will also star Dominic Cooper, who plays King Llane Wrynn; Ben Foster as Magus Medivh; Ben Schnetzer as mage Khadgar; and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria. Paula Patton will play half human, half orc, Garona Halforcen.
"Warcraft" will hit U.S. theaters on June 10, 2016.
