'Warcraft' Movie Trailer, Additional Story Details Revealed at Comic-Con

The San Diego Comic-Con brought along some good news for "World of Warcraft" fans that have been waiting for the "Warcraft" movie adaptation. The movie, whose release has been delayed not once but twice, shared an extended trailer during the convention. Its cast members also took part in a panel where they shared additional story details, according to reports.

The extended trailer, which was shown on three screens, started in Draenor where the Orcs are shown in desperate search for a new home. Orc families are also shown in the trailer, then Orc Warchief Blackhand starts commanding his troops to storm the gates to the other lands, presumably where the humans are, and to take prisoners if needed. Different kinds of magical beasts appear in the trailer as well. As the Orc armies forge forward, nothing is heard from human side except for "They're beasts, they should be destroyed." Then the battle between the two races begins.

The panel consisted of the movie's director, Duncan Jones and its lead stars, namely Robert Kazinsky as Orgrim Doomhammer, Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Ben Foster as Medivh, Travis Fimmell as Anduin Lothar, Paula Patton as Garona, Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, and Daniel Wu as Gul'dan.

Jones shared that the movie's story is not a simple good versus evil story, but rather a conflict between two heroes. Neither the Orcs nor the humans can be classified as good or evil. Both races are out to defend their kind at whatever cost. The story is told from both perspectives: from that of Orcs who are "fleeing starvation in their home world of Draenor" and from that of humans who are defending their homes from Orc invaders.

Jones also insisted that the approach he took for the movie was one that would make sure that it would be "accessible and interesting to everybody rather than specifically catering to "World of Warcraft" players.
