'Warhammer: Vermintide 2' Gameplay News: No Paid Loot Boxes

Fans eagerly anticipating the release of Fatshark's "Warhammer: Vermintide 2" can rest easy knowing that they will not have to save up on more money to buy loot in the game.

It has been revealed that the upcoming sequel to the 2015 surprise hit will not include paid loot boxes. This much was revealed on Reddit by Fatshark's community manager.

"We will NOT be selling loot boxes, or selling keys to unlock loot boxes," the comment reads. "Loot comes from gameplay, not your wallet."

Naturally, fans replied to the comment with joy. Some even proclaimed that they will be purchasing the game because of the lack of paid loot boxes. The reception of this revelation does not come as a shock since a large majority of players have become disappointed with other games that have a lot of in-game purchases.

Fatshark also recently released a gameplay trailer that showcases a lot of action and lists down some of the features players can look forward to. Some of these features include visceral melee combat, 15 careers a heroic deeds system, an improved loot system, talent trees, new enemies, five heroes, new weapons, mod support, dedicated server functionality, and new locations.

"'Vermintide 2' is the evolution of the genre. If you liked the first game, you'll love the second. We have listened to the community, analyzed hours and hours of online playthroughs, and combined this with our passion for co-op games to bring you the very best experience possible," Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund said, according to PCGamer.

The first game, "Warhammer End Times - Vermintide," received positive reviews upon its release. It currently holds a 79 rating on Metacritic, indicating generally favorable reviews.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a while longer before they can get their hands on the sequel. "Warhammer: Vermintide 2" does not release until early 2018. A specific date has yet to be announced.
