Washington Nationals vs Chicago Cubs: Game 4 MLB Playoffs 2017 NLDS

The Washington Nationals face a must win game against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in Game 4 of their National League Division Series. The game has a scheduled start time of 5.30 p.m. ET an takes place from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The game can be watched on TV on the TBS network or online through live stream (details below).

The Nationals will be disappointed to have fallen 2-1 down in this series. After they took a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning of Game 3 it had looked like they might get their noses in front and move to just one win away from the next round.

However, the Cubs pulled out a big win by scoring single runs in each of the seventh and eighth innings to claim a 2-1 victory in Game 3.

The win was certainly ugly, but a win's a win, especially in the postseason, and the Cubs will now be dreaming of finishing this series here tonight in Game 4 and advancing for another big October.

Today will see pitcher Tanner Roark go up against Jake Arrieta as the Cubs look to make their third straight NLCS appearance.

Roark has posted a 13-11 record this season with a 4.67 ERA so he is not exactly the consistent arm most Nationals' fans would like to see for a game of this magnitude. However, the silver lining is that he has been slightly better on the road than at home this season.

His record at home was an even 6-6, where as on the road he has gone 7-5 with a 4.26 ERA, and he has held opponents to a .241 batting average. That's not so bad and the Nationals will be hoping he can be operating at the top of his game here today to give them the best chance to take this to a winner takes all Game 5.

Arrieta has been out since Sept. 26 and was not firing on all cylinders at the end of the regular season. He only managed to pitch 10.1 innings in just three starts through September, and posted a 6.1 ERA in that period. In those three starts he allowed five home runs, which will be a big concern for the Cubs if they are hoping to finish things at home tonight.

With both pitchers showing signs of weakness this could be a high scoring affair.
