Of the two teams, only the Wizards have already played a game in the preseason, giving enough pressure to the Knicks to try and shake off early cobwebs and rust from the long and drawn-out summer.

The Knicks have a relatively new line-up with additions that will supposedly help them in their development.

Carmelo Anthony is still the team's main focus as he returns to the Knicks amid speculations of unrest and wanting to be out of the league.

However, he revealed that he has no intent to leave the Big Apple and will want to help the team move forward.

Joining him in the predicted starting line-up is Jose Calderon, who is a veteran presence who should be able to handle the ball properly.

Arron Afflalo has made his way to New York after finishing last season with the Portland Trail Blazers and should bring shooting along with size in the 2 spot.

Rookie Kristaps Porzingis is a surprise in the draft but many believe that he is a future great in the league. It remains to be seen how he will perform against the world's best players.

Finally, Robin Lopez will be the man in the center position and is known for his focus and and energy.

Facing them are the Wizards who recently beat the Philadelphia 76ers 129-95.

Aside from John Wall and Bradley Beal, they have enough pieces to be a strong team in the East.

In fact, in the game against the Sixers, Otto Porter was the best player with 22 points and going 8-of-10 in the field – including draining all his four attempts from beyond the arc.

The Knicks should try to get off early against the Wizards if they want to start their preseason with a win.
