Watch Dogs 2 Release Date on Xbox One & PS4, News and Updates: Two Online Multiplayer Modes and Other Features Revealed [DETAILS]
"Watch Dogs 2" Has Two Online Multiplayer Modes
"Watch Dogs 2" does not have one, but two online multiplayer modes.
Ubisoft confirmed at Gamescom 2016 that "Watch Dogs 2" has two online multiplayer modes. Players can choose either to play via "Hacking Invasion" PVP mode or by "Bounty Hunter" mode. These modes are different from the single-player campaign in the game.
'Watch Dogs 2' Online Multiplayer Modes
According to Polygon, the "Hacking Invasion" PVP online multiplayer mode will be included in "Watch Dogs 2." It first appeared in the first game and the mechanics are similar as players are given a mission to download data from a certain opponent assigned to them. It is important that they do not get caught as the mission will be compromised. A co-op option is also available for this mode.
The newest online multiplayer mode added in "Watch Dogs 2" is the "Bounty Hunter." IGN reports that to play this mode, players must evade arrest as the bounty as they are being pursued by the authorities. The hunt for the players can either be by creating chaos to become targeted to by sending an invite via the in-game mobile device. For players that are hunters, the role is to track down and catch the prey. There is also a co-op option for this mode.
Solo "Bounty Hunter" play as the bounty can have up to three AI hunters to chase the players down. In the co-op session, there will be two real players who will try to track and chase the players. The same mechanics apply to the reverse roles.
'Watch Dogs 2' Bounty Hunter Glitches
A reviewer on Techno Buffalo wrote that while he was playing "Watch Dogs 2" with other players at Gamescom 2016, he experienced multiple bugs. On his on-hands play, some bugs include game crashing, disappearing cars and explosions and many others. He experienced the glitches either while playing solo or co-op with others.
He noted that "Bounty Hunt" mode on "Watch Dogs 2" is fun because of the hacks that players need to do in the game and the amount of freedom they had to do accomplish the mission.
With these glitches detected early on, Ubisoft may have a lot of time to fix these before "Watch Dogs 2" will be released on Nov. 15 for the Xbox One, Windows PC, and PS 4.
