Watch Pope Francis Wash the Feet of Disabled and Elderly People in Rule-Breaking Ritual (VIDEO)
In commemoration of Jesus's act of service to his disciples, Pope Francis washed the feet of 12 disabled and elderly people Thursday at a care center in Rome. He included women in the ritual in direct defiance of a traditional rule that states only men can participate. It was a repeat violation as Francis did it first in 2013 at a juvenile detention center to the ire of traditionalists.
This CBS News video shows Francis conducting Mass, and later washing and kissing the feet of those he served.
