'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Confirmed for Summer 2016 Release
"Wayward Pines" season 2's release date has already been confirmed and word has it that it will feature more suspense and drama when it returns this summer.
After initial speculations on the cancellation of "Wayward Pines" were proven wrong, Fox Entertainment President David Madden revealed that season 2 of the high-rating series has received the green light. Madden said the show was a huge success and that they were thrilled with the fans' response to M. Night Shyamalan's mysterious story, according to Christian Today.
When "Wayward Pines" returns this summer, it will pick up where season 1 left off. A new character will set foot on the mysterious town and will be caught up in a serious rebellion. The residents will also be arguing over how they can best preserve the human race, the report details.

Madden also gave a tiny sneak peek into the second season, Korea Portal reports.
"Season 2 is going to take the suspense, the vision of the future and the haunting character drama to new levels," said Madden. "And we can't wait for our fans to continue that ride next year."
Meanwhile, Shyamalan will still be executive prodcuer of the show, while Chad Hodge will no longer be the showrunner. Mark Friedman will reportedly take Hodge's place, the report relays.
"Wayward Pines" tells the story of Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), a secret service agent trying to investigate the disappearance of his fellow agents. He woke up in the strange town after getting involved in an accident.
Burke later on discovered that the residents and the town itself are keeping terrible secrets. Season 1 ended with Burke's death after a heroic act to save the children of the First Generation.
As of now, the exact release date of "Wayward Pines" season 2 is still unconfirmed. More information is expected to be announced in the next few months.
