'Wentworth' Season 5 Cast News: Danielle Cormack's Character Officially Dead; Liam Hemsworth Coming Aboard?

While speculation went around for some time about the finality of Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) death, the studio has put in the final word with their season 5 promo announcement. The fifth season of Foxtel's "Wentworth" will premiere on Tuesday, April 4, at 8:30 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Foxtel has just released a promo image for "Wentworth" season 5, and also picked up from the previous season with a short synopsis of the first episode of the new season. The promo picture contained the 12 main cast members confirmed for the next season, including Nicole da Silva as Franky Doyle, Pamela Rabe as Joan Ferguson, Kate Atkinson as Vera Bennett, Sigrid Thornton as Sonia Stevens, Celia Ireland as Liz Birdsworth, Katrina Milosevic as Sue "Boomer" Jenkins, Shareena Clanton as Doreen Anderson, Robbie Magasiva as Will Jackson, Tammy MacIntosh as Kaz Proctor, Kate Jenkinson as Allie Novak, Bernard Curry as Jake Stewart and Socratis Otto as Maxine Conway.

There are a lot of speculations going around online that actor Liam Hemsworth is being considered for a part in the award-winning crime series. In a feature by the International Business Times, it was noted that he could be written in as a character to fill in the void left by Bea Smith. Hemsworth, not a stranger to television with his work as Josh Taylor in "Neighbors" and Marcus in "The Elephant Princess," has not yet confirmed his involvement with "Wentworth" as of this time.

The next season picks up with Bea Smith's violent death. The incident has massive repercussions on the inmates and the staff of Wentworth Correctional Centre, and Governor Vera Bennett is in for the worst of it as the Corrective Services look in her direction for someone to blame for the murder.

Kaz Proctor steps up in her new role and faces the difficulties of leading the community of inmates through this trauma. Meanwhile, Allie Novak remains unaware that Bea is gone; it's up to a reluctant Franky Doyle to give her the awful news.
