'Wentworth' Season 5 Spoilers: Allie Gears Up for a Strong Comeback
Allie (Kate Jenkinson) has a job to do in the upcoming season of "Wentworth." She will not rest until she has avenged her lover's death. Joan, aka "The Freak" (Pamela Rabe), must watch her back in the new installment of the Foxtel series, as Bea's (Danielle Cormack) partner is coming after her.
Fans of the series were shocked when the reigning queen of Wentworth prison died. She was stabbed multiple times by Joan and bled to death. It has been confirmed by the showrunners that Bea is indeed dead and would not be coming back. Still, speculations claim she will be seen on flashbacks in the next season.
While Bea was dying, her lover, Allie, was waking up from her coma. Once she learns what happened to Bea, Allie is expected to plot revenge on the woman who caused her so much heartache. Many "Ballie" fans were disappointed that the two never even had a chance to say goodbye to each other. Allie's vendetta against Joan is expected to be the focus in season 5. It will not be an easy task, as Joan is expected to take Bea's place as top dog.
In a 2016 interview, Rabe explained why her character hated Bea above everyone else.
"I think I've always felt and said in the past that Joan Ferguson sees Bea Smith as a viable opponent and Joan likes a good fight. ... I think that there's a grudging respect for what Bea Smith has done to herself to survive and, I think she considers her... That fencing metaphor that was set up really early on in season two has carried through. She likes someone who she can thrust and parry with," Rabe said in an interview with Female First.
Meanwhile, recent spoilers claim that Liam Hemsworth will be one of the new additions to the cast. According to IB Times, the actor may play the role of a prison warden. Rumors even claim he will help Allie take Joan down. The executive producers have yet to comment on the said speculations.
"Wentworth" season 5 is rumored to air on Foxtel in 2017.
