Despite losses to Leicester City and AFC Bournemouth, West Ham have recorded wins over top opponents as their first victory in the season came at the expense of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

On the other hand, the Magpies are 18th in the league, tied with Stoke City and Sunderland for the fewest points so far in the season with two.

They have only gotten their points from two draws when they faced Southampton and Manchester United, while suffering defeats against Swansea City and Arsenal.

West Ham will be without Victor Moses and Andrew Carroll as both strikers are nursing injuries, while Adrian is suspended after a red card.

For Newcastle, Emmanuel Riviere is out with a problem with his knee and Aleksander Mitrovic is suspended.

In their two meetings last season, the two teams split the series as the hosts won the matches.

At Boleyn last year, it was a strike from Aaron Cresswell that spelled the difference in the match.

The last time Newcastle won at West Ham was back in January 2014 when the Magpies scored a 3-1 victory in front of over 33,000 fans.

A repeat of that performance is needed if Newcastle wants to stay away from the relegation zone early in the season.

As for West Ham, a win could help them climb higher in the league after losses from other teams above them occurred earlier in the game week.
