'Westworld' Season 2: New Season To Be Very Different

At the recent PaleyFest, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy appeared for a "Westworld" panel, along with several cast members. And while they did not really reveal a lot of details during the panel, they did tease a very different second season prior to taking the stage.

While speaking with TV Insider, Joy revealed that the upcoming season will see a change from the freshman cycle. "I think we'll experiment in different point of views and different angles," she said. "You don't necessarily want to repeat the same thing."

Joy also teased that the new season is going to be very exciting, especially since they are thinking outside the box. "We're blowing up some of the preconceptions of where we might go," she said, according to TV Insider.

During the panel, they did not talk a lot about what is in store for the characters. They also refrained from confirming the existence of Samurai World, which was teased at the end of season 1 with the letters "SW." However, they did tease a song that will be used on the soundtrack for season 2.

"There may be a strange shoutout to a very kind of innocently joyful song, that we'll take, and co-opt, and make dark," Joy said (via Deadline). "Perverted," Nolan jokingly added.

Should there be other worlds out there, there are bound to be other hosts as well. In that case, fans can expect the addition of new characters in season 2. However, this has yet to be confirmed.

"Westworld" fans have got a long wait ahead of them since the sophomore season is not scheduled to premiere until 2018. This is because of all the work that is required to produce a full season, including writing and filming. However, Nolan and Joy did assure fans that they will try to stay away from production delays.
