What is Nitro Cold Brew Coffee from Starbucks? Here's What You Need to Know
Starbucks aims to sell more than just a beverage for every cup of coffee, but offer their patrons the experience of having to sample a more gourmet drink that is hand-crafted by their baristas in every store.
This is probably the coffee company's business strategy to keep up with the competition, especially in some market where local and trendy coffee shops are getting more and more popular among consumers.
Nitro Cold Brew Coffee is the newest addition to the menu and will hit the more than 500 Starbucks stores across the U.S. this summer, particularly those from the bigger cities like Seattle, Portland, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles.
For the meantime, locals from the Seattle area can sample the nitrogen-infused coffee at Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room where it has already emerged as one of the best-sellers.
So, what sets the nitrogen-infused coffee apart from a regular cold brew? Turns out, it has much smaller bubbles as compared to those found in a carbonated (carbon dioxide) drinks like soda.
According to Business Insider, these micro bubbles give the Nitro Cold Brew its foamy texture and a richer, creamier flavor without having the need to actually add extra cream. There is no need for sugar to be added, as well, as the drink omes with its natural sweetness.
Coffee lovers will get their cups of Nitro Cold Brew coffee straight from a tap where it's going to come out cold ready to be served. You can forget about the ice that usually comes with a regular iced coffee.
So you see, it's going to surprise you with every sip. A chilled coffee drink that is sweet and creamy, but without ice, sugar and cream in it. It's just plain cold brew coffee and the nitrogen element.
Bustle says the Nitro Cold Brew, mind you, also offers higher content of caffeine for every cup compared to a regular cold brew. And, considering the fact that a cold brew coffee in itself is already one of the more coffee-loaded drinks at Starbucks, you are sure to get a lot of kick for every serving of this nitrogen-infused drink.
Apart from the Nitro Cold Brew, the coffee company will also be launching the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew on the coming days as part of their move to expand on their cold bar menu. USA Today reports that the demand for cold coffee has started to pick up more steam in terms of sales over the past few years. And, it seems like the coffee company is already doing a great job cashing in on this.
