What Next for the Technology World After Steve Jobs?

Will Anyone Be able to match the invention of the iPhone?

With the funeral of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs taking place as a private family event Friday, Americans are wondering if there will ever be another technological invention which can match the importance of some of the devices released during Jobs’ reign.

A lot has happened for Apple this week. Along with the death of the company’s co-founder, new CEO Tim Cook unveiled the iPhone 4S at the “Let’s Talk iPhone” press conference in Cupertino, California.

Jobs brought personality and creativity to the technology race, making his products aesthetically alluring to the human intuition.

“America lost a genius who will be remembered with Edison and Einstein,” said Michael Bloomberg in a public statement.

At the press conference this past week, Cook did not unveil the new iPhone 5 as expected, but rather disappointed many with the new and improved iPhone 4S.

“[Cook] was working a room clearly missing the energy Jobs used to infuse into these events,” contended the Seattle Times.

Critics are wondering if Apple will ever be able to top Jobs’ inventions, which include the Apple MacBook, iPad and the iPod.

The original iPhone was invented by Jobs in 2007. It was considered the most important smartphone to date, primarily because its glass encasement involved a touchscreen and various applications for the user to choose from.

So when will America see its next genius capable of making something paralleling the iPhone in importance?
