What This Runner Does When She Falls Down Will Amaze and Inspire You (VIDEO)
Heather Dorniden was entering the final lap of a 600m race at the 2008 Big Ten Indoor Track Championships when catastrophe struck. The University of Minnesota track star was clipped by another runner and fell hard on the track. As the three other contestants sprinted ahead, she was all but assured last place – but no one told her that.
Dorniden jumped up and gave chase.
In this blog post, she recalls, "Luckily it was a home meet, so my whole team, my parents, and fans gave me so much energy. I heard the announcer say, 'Watch out for Heather Dorniden.' I thought, yeah, watch out for Heather."
As Dorniden flew down the track, the miraculous happened. Despite her nasty fall, she caught up with the pack and lunged ahead at the finish line for the win.
Now married, Heather Kampf runs professionally and is "constantly striving to represent God who has blessed my life abundantly." Let her timeless display of perseverance bless you.
