What to Expect for Google's Annual Hardware Event on Oct. 4

Considering that Apple and Samsung just recently unveiled their latest flagships, other tech giants are working hard to keep up with the competition in the smartphone market. Google is one of those companies, and they are preparing for their annual hardware event, which is slotted for Oct. 4. Fans are expecting to have more details about the upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Here is everything that Google is expected to reveal during the upcoming event.

Considering that Google's event will be held on the same date that the Pixel and Pixel XL were released last year, the search engine giant has all but confirmed that they will be using it to unveil their upcoming flagship smartphones. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are expected to have a 5-inch and 5.5-inch display, respectively.

The fingerprint sensor might be at the rear-end of the phones. Both smartphones will also have support for the company's Google Assistant, which is meant to rival Amazon's Alexa, Apple's Siri, and Samsung's Bixby.

Furthermore, Google might also be unveiling the Pixelbook, which was made to compete against Microsoft's Surface Book. It might have a hefty price tag attached to it as fans expect it to be somewhere around $1,000 and $1,200 for the 128 GB variant.

Aside from the smartphones and the laptop, Google might also respond to Amazon's recent hardware event, which introduced a whole line of Echo products. The Google Home Mini and Max will be unveiled along with the features and price tag.

There is a lot to expect for Google's upcoming hardware event. However, given that they have been lagging behind the smartphone and smart home competitions, fans can at the very least expect some surprises and treats along the way. In the meantime, they are urged to read up on the latest rumors of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
