When, God, When?
When, God, when? Chances are you've prayed that prayer recently. Waiting on God is something we can all relate to, and it's one of the most important times to remain strong in our faith.
It's easy to get discouraged when you know that God could do what you need Him to do but you can't figure out why He's not doing it. It can make us think that there's something wrong with us, or we doubt that God loves us or that we're praying right. It makes us question, "Why isn't God doing this for me?"
God gives all of us desires, dreams, and hopes for our lives, but He often hides the exact timing of when those things will come to pass. He also hides the exact way that He's going to lead us. So we have to learn to be patient and to trust His wisdom.

Hebrews 6:12 says that we inherit the promises of God through faith and patience. And James 1:4 tells us that when patience does a thorough work, we will become [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing (The Amplified Bible).
Can you imagine how peaceful it would be to be totally satisfied and able to say, "There is nothing right now that I have to have to make me feel any better than I do"? That feeling comes from being patient-not from getting everything we want right when we want it. That's the kind of heart we need to have.
Patience is not simply the ability to wait-it's how we behave while we're waiting. So I have a question for you: Do you wait well? Do you wait "pretty," or do you wait "ugly"?
The key to waiting well is trusting God totally. Remember that God knows more than you do and He always does things at just the right time, which is often not our time. Also, many times when we're waiting, it's not necessarily because we're not ready. It's not all about us; sometimes we have to wait on other people to get ready.
We need to be comfortable not knowing all the answers or reasons why we have to wait. This can be difficult because it feels like we're not in control when we don't understand everything. Think about this: When God told Noah to build the ark, He gave him very specific instructions about how to build it and what to build it with. However, He did not tell him to include a rudder or a sail-Noah had no control over where the ark sailed. He had to totally trust God for direction and timing with this.
I want to encourage you to make a few decisions today:
• God is smarter than I am.
• God's timing is just right.
• God's way of getting me to my destination and fulfilling my hopes and desires is just right.
• I am going to be content and enjoy my life during the waiting.
• I'm not going to compare my journey with anyone else's.
• I am going to totally trust God with everything that happens in my life!
God has good plans for you, and there is an appointed time for everything to come to pass. Remember that faith pleases God, and when we trust Him, He is glorified. Make it your goal to trust His timing so you can enjoy each day and experience God's plans for your life!
